Artillery types

Just wondering if anybody has done mods on artillery types.

I think it would be interesting to split it in to field, coastal and railway guns.

To balance things up costal guns would be very powerful against shipping and perhaps capable of cross region fire including English Channel or Straits of Gibraltar etc. fire after research (i.e. NOT capable of this at start of the war). However land attack ratings should perhaps be low - is there a way to split land attack rating so it is lower over long distance? opinions anybody? They should also be difficult to mobilise and suffer some sort penalty such as a negative mod or supply cost to relocate, like factories. Perhaps only able to take part in distance combat against ships only when attacked by them (reflecting that units in the war evaded combat versus this type of artillery).

Railway guns - German only unit? Well these would be powerful but require stratgic capacity ONLY to move. They would suffer a negative mod and supply to move reflecting that they weren't moved around much as far as I can tell by the Germans - they required their own track and embankments which took a few weeks to be laid. Perhaps they would also take more supply to fire. Perhaps like coastal guns eventually able to fire across regions after research.

These things can't be modded as new unit types can't be created. The only thing we can mod is the stats of existing units. And as they are they are already pretty well balanced. However I have tweaked a number here and there for my mod Franco's Alliance.
