Full map editor?

I've been playing around with the map editor that came with the game and haven't been able to figure out how to tie special events to certain locations, like is done in the Deep Core campaign. Am I overlooking something or are these features only available in the full map editor that I keep reading mention of? And if so, was it ever publically released or available in some manner? Any info would be appreciated.

They're only available in the full map editor. Unfortunately it was never released to the public, due to lack of documentation mostly. I'm sure Larkin will send you a copy as soon as he checks the forum. It's a lot of fun, the full editor, lots of events.

Thanks for the reply. The lack of documentation shouldn't be a big issue for me, I'm accustomed to just experimenting with things to see what works and what doesn't. Speaking of which, I noticed in the standard editor that it's possible to set the amount of HP a building has which would seem to indicate that they are damagable in combat but so far I've had no luck actually attacking them as there seems to be no no way to specifically target them inside the hex so I end up having to just lock onto the hex itself. Was the ability to target and damage them something that was planned at one point but never implemented? I rather hope that's not the case as I was considering the possibility of including some base defense/attacks as part of an ongoing campaign although I suppose there are ways to work around that to achieve the same effect.

You can damage buildings. Didn't you play the tutorial? Just lock the hex and shoot. Some weapons like CC and HtH have no effect though.

Wow do I feel foolish. Yeah, I had played through the tutorial some time ago but totally forgot that you attacked a building in it. I didn't realize that CC and HtH weapons didn't work though and that's where my mistake was made with the basic map I was testing. I was trying to attack the building with a squad in Duelists... [:(]

Hello @ all,
really nice game!
But, same for me. [:)] I'm missing the map editor with it's mentionend features. So I'm somewhat hampered in map construction. [:(]
The game reminded me of my days on the old Amiga in the end-80s. [:)]
Can anybody help with that editor thing?
1000THX in advance,
Slugger [&o]

Would it be possible to release the editor? I'm going by trial-and-error with the standard one and it's okay, but some of the interesting campaign features aren't available.
Thanks.

If I remember correctly, the editor wasn't being released because the notes for it weren't fully fleshed out. I have a newer version of one, though, and I could email it to you. It's listed as version 7.5.

@Rainbow: I'm sure I asked you not to distribute.
@Aensland : Your email host rejected the attachement.

Ooops. Sorry about that. I have no memory of whether you did or not, but I won't distribute.

It's been months since the last post [:'(] Between work and life and other games, slowly been picking apart some new maps. Too bad no branching missions eh? Like, if you succeed a particular objective but fail another one, go to campaign #3, otherwise go to campaign #2. Guess I'll have to rely on player honesty to pick the next one to continue then >_>
Not happy at all with the maps I've created, but they get better. Still, the random map generator is an awesome, awesome feature - I can never get enough of this game. There isn't anything else out there (turn-based mech) that can compare to Titans of Steel at all. Nothing.
*goes back to drawing maps*

Shame Christian never included a RMG in the map editor. It was on his to do list at my request, but with some people asking him to implement crappy features, he never found the time to do it. [:(]
There is a way to import maps generated in the battle module to the map editor though. Very useful, the RMG does produce very nice maps [:D]

Agreed, in fact I like most of the random maps.
