I happen to do the 1959 NFL uniforms, easier to do than todays with all the graphics, but wasnt necessarily going to do a league for that period.
But since the game came out it looks that with the trouble the game has trying to cover motion and the inability to assign m2m coverage to RB and TE that the modern period with more motion and passing to the back and TE as well as recievers will not fit very well at this time.. So I thought I might as well do a league that doesnt do as much with formations and motion and is more run based.
I will probably do a modern college league also, but again with limitations untill the game can handle things.

I'm in to old school college seasons. I like the single wing, leather helmet, no face mask era. To set college rosters, I have accessed lettermen lists for most of the SEC schools. If I don't have actual names, I just make them up- friends, family members, etc. By looking at various sources, you can get a feel for the strength of a team and then set up ratings accordingly.
Another reason I like old scholl football is because I'm old.

Old Coach,
One of the things I have been most looking forward to for the last year-an-a-half has been the single wing playbooks and teams you have written of doing. Please start a thread about them and keep us all posted. Maybe we can get it stickied!
They just don't play football like they used to...QB's off limits to harsh treatment, offensive linemen using their hands...jeez. If they went back to single squad football it would rid the teams of the monster-sized players that make the leagues seem to think they need to make so many protective rules.
Not to mention adding more character back into the game.
