Trying to make sense of OOBs

This is probably a dumb newbie question, but I'm trying to get OOB info for "Just In Time", which I've read is a good starter scenario, and I'm getting nowhere. Sorry. The answer is probably in one of the 100s of sheets of paper I now have lying all around me.

If someone would please walk me through the specifics of for this scenario, I sure would appreciate it. Any general info - how to get the skinny on scen. x or whatnot might be helpful.

I'm trying to use the Oobdmp utility but I can't figure out which file to open. Or do you need all of em?

I hope this is no bother. Thanks. Great game. Lots to learn...

Exactly what are you looking for? You can get the info for any particular unit by right-clicking it. That will show you weapons, speed, etc.

Thanks for the reply!

Yeah, I'm looking for a database of that information that I can print out and fiddle with as I plan things out.

So my ideal table for a scenario or battle would have the units involved, the weapons they carry, and detailed info - HE, AP, etc. - for each of those weapons. As you mention speed of the unit would be useful too but I hadn't even thought that far ahead.

From the look of things there's a table of units, and a table of weapons, right? If I can figure out which files hold which info, I can take it from there I think. But there are over a hundred oob files on my machine and I only just started.

I hope this makes sense and doesn't make me look like a boof. Thanks for the help.

If I understand you correctly you want a listing of the units, their stats and weapon stats.... for a certain senario????

I think that what you want is one of the Chandla editors (see chandla directory) maybe WAWED....

I don't know if ou can print out from this.....

There is a dump exe that will make .csv files of the complete unit, weapon and formation files for a selected OOB (need to repeat for each OOB)

The table of units identifies the vehicles, squads etc that appear, listing weapons that are used by that unit and the ammo load etc.
,the weapons file contains data on the specific weapons... range, accuracy, HE effect and armour penetration (nothing about the number of rounds available)

e.g., a Sherman firefly will be listed in the"unit" file. It will list weapons (17pdr etc) and ammo for weapons (X HE, Y AP, Z HVAP(or APDS, or APCR))
The 17pdr will appear in the weapons file giving range and effect.
