Ground Combat at 48/36 (China)

Hi Gents,

I am quite sure of being guilty of an oversight - manual wise.
But anyway. I am playing a PBM as Japanese (CHS, older map - not the latest - patch 1.795) against a very good "land warrior".

I am trying to make an advance towards Changcha. Given the initial setup, I have to either take or pass trough the hex at 48/36.

This hex is a "river" hex. Each of my units goes through the "river hex / shock attack" drill when moving there. That is o.k.
But the chinese "reinforcements" do not do that in this hex. Getting away scot free ?

Am I missing something ?

Cheers

Not sure exactly what hex you are speaking of since I don't have the map at work here but the key concept is that it is the HEXSIDE that governs the shock attack. If you're referring to the hex just North of Changsha the river hexside in only to the East; thus Japanese troops cross the river to enter the hex while Chinese troops entering from the West do not.
