Is PBEM all we will see in the next release?

The game already has DirectPlay support which is sorta TCP/IP (the exact details escape me but I remember studying up on UDP as well at the time). Negotiating firewalls etc in this day of advanced paranoia is another matter though.

Are you trying to play on a LAN or across the Internet?

Actually I like PBEM

Playing on-line means I cant play any body in Europe or the USA unless they are happ to play at 3am their time [8|]

We've never really considered this because we feel that most people, including me, take far too long to play a turn to make online play a viable proposition. There is literally nothing that a defending player can do while the attacker has his turn. This is by design, and and makes PBEM work, but I just don't see anybody sitting there while their opponent scratches their head and deeply ponders the movement of a single unit.
