Database question?

In the device section does it make a diference where the upgrade device is? A ran a one year test on my mod looking for possible database problems and discovered that none of my AA units were upgrading. As an example, slot 417 .50cal AA is supposed to start upgrading on 4201 to slot 406 37mm. It is now 4212 and none have upgraded. The 37mm device appears to be corect with 40 units of production there should ahve been 480 units by now.

It really shouldn't... I have things that upgrade both up and down the various lists with no problems.

Another "Modding" question.
AIRCRAFT
In the weapons area, some have slots 1,2,3,4 filled out.
Others have 1,2,4,5,7
Does leaving the gap have any affect on what weapons are carried??

Not to my knowledge, no. There are only two places where slots are reserved, to my knowledge. One is for carriers, where aircraft ordnance must be put in slot#20, the other is for dedicated submarine minelayers, where the mineload must be in slot#2.

Thanks,
Maybe they deleted a weapon but didnt fill the slot.
Part 2 of the question, if I have a Torpedo-Bomber, i.e Kate or TBM, do I have to enter info to allow torps or bombs but not both??

You put in the torpedo only; the program automagically puts on bombs if a strike is flown at extended range.

Then I need to take a closer look at the save game file. Thanks

Are you producing enough of the upgraded item for upgrades?

I have had subs and other mine layers play problem-free with mines in as many as ten slots and I don't think I have ever had them in slot #2. I have noticed that the order of weapon type (gun, torpedo, mines, etc.) may result in odd behavior. The slot order of the type of weapon device may be a restriction, but from my experience, mines are not limited to slot #2 on subs.

Notice I said dedicated minelaying subs.
According to Mike Wood, WitP's programmer, a sure way to unforseeable behaviour is to set mines outside slot#2. The only other place you'll see them is for non-minelaying subs, somewhere around slot#9 or 10, so the program will allow some offloading of torpedoes in return for mines.
Otherwise, if you want a guaranteed-to-function minelaying sub, it's slot#2. Not worth it otherwise...

i guess not, double checking production rate it seems that production is an anemic 10 a month.
