I installed KP, downloaded and installed patches...

When I attempt to start the game, I get a black screen lockup with only mouse movement. When I get back to the desktop, my screen resolution appears to be at about 800x600. My normal resolution is 1600x1200 with nVidia 6800GT (256ram) video card and Dell-Phillips2001FP 20" LCD monitor...

When I set my comp at lower resolution the game still locks up in the same way...I'm running Win XP Pro, sp2, direct X 9.0c, 1 gig of RAM, Asus motherboard, 3.2c Northwood cpu, Creative X-Fi sound card.

Any ideas/ suggestions?

I think I received a pirated copy on EBay... Matrix is looking into it now.

Just purchased, downloaded, and installed KP from Matrix website...

Does the same thing when I click on the .exe file... "BSOD" with only the mouse pointer working, and then when I get back to the desktop, I'm at 800x600 resolution I think... I run my desktop at 1600x1200...

Ideas... ?? Is there a native resolution the game wants to run at?

A good thing to check first would be if your graphic and sound card driver are up to date. KP does not need a certain resolution to run at.
