Hey HardSarge, I've been wondering, what's it like being a developer of ED to BTR? What's your typical day like?

LOL

you must be bored

ahhh spent the day yesterday with the kid at the college she be going to this year, read the forums, talk to my programmers when they are willing to reply, do some reading, take some notes, make sure the notes have not already been done, play the game (AI vs AI) do some more reading (waiting for 4 books to come, just came in today, GOOD BOOKS)

ask questions of my programmers, break there train of thought, ask for them to give me this or give me that, get yelled at

talk to the artist, talk or write to the boss, got some other people I got to talk with, set things up with, read the forums, go other places and read the fourms

talk/argue with my Beta testers about why we don't have anything to beta test yet, ask for info, read some more

try to make some time, so I can watch the 15 DVD's I have bought that I have not watched (ehhhh, one of them is a 8 disk set) I never going to see them !

of course, the fact that my real job, likes to work 7 days a week, don't help, but what are you going to do

don't want to tell you about the dogs or the wife

this is some of the stuff I spend the day looking at

Remarks

..................Both the Me 109 G and the FW 190 A were originally, and in some cases still are operated at a reduced engine rating. Performances given correspond to the full engine ratings.

Conclusions

..................Me 109 G fighters are slightly faster than the Fw 190 A at 20,000 to 22,000 ft. The difference of speed increases with altitude and is about 25 m.p.h. at 30,000 ft. in favour of the Me 109 G.

..................The rate of climb of the Me 109 G, without additional guns, is slightly better than that of the Fw 109 A. The same remark applies to the service ceiling.

..................The Spitfire IX at 28,000 to 30,000 ft. is superior in speed to the Me 109 G and the Fw 190 A.

..................Its rate of climb at 20,000 ft. with the 0.42 reduction gear is inferior to the Fw 190 A and the Me109 G, even when operating at +18 lb. per sq. inch boost.

..................When fitted with the 0.477 reduction gear and at +15 lb. per sq. inch boost the Spitfire is equal in rate of climb to the Me 109 G-2; when operating at +18 lb. per sq. inch boost it is superior to all German fighters at present in service.

..................The ceiling of the Spitfire IX is considerably higher than that of the Me 109 G or the Fw 190 A at present in service.

The Bf 109G, as well as the Bf 110G, was restricted to lower engine ratings (AFAIK to climb and combat instead of take-off/emergency) because of teething problems with the DB 605A engine. AFAIK problem with oil cooling often leading to a broken gearbox or something in this range). This limitation was throughout most of 1943, AFAIK somewhere between September and November 1943 this limitation was removed.
The Fw 190A was limited with early versions of the BMW 801C and 801D engines. AFAIK 1941/1942 with A-0 to early A-2 with 801C and 1942 with A-3 to A-4, maybe even A-5 with early 801D-2. Similar to the Bf 109 G the restriction was not to use Take-off/Emergency power but climb and combat instead.

yesterday, while doing some reseach, got thinking about this post

so.....

besides asking questions and responding to ideas on the beta forum, did some reseach

printed out about 25 pages of pilot names

spent a hour writting down by hand a number of It ANR pilots, then spent a hour checking my lists, found out, that I had all of them but 1, so basicly wasted 2 hours for 1 pilot, but got one pilot

to the good, my list of Hung pilots, found 24 good pilots and found the correct spelling for 13 others, so that was good time

waiting on my two sources for French pilots to come in, besides what I got

working on ideas for GE production, correcting weapon load outs on GE plane models

worked on the stats for some new plane models, locking in data/notes on who flew these models and how many

waiting on info, always seem to be waiting on something else

oh boy
24 Hung pilots added, 13 pilots names and units corrected
Corrected a few Unit names, now going to go look to see if there are others that need to be changed

which must say, I am disappointed in the Hung units now, so got something else to start looking into

thought this was interesting and shows how some of this is done

from a nice site on some pilots it is very HARD to find info on

but, I can't read the info on the site, so take to google with the idea that maybe it can be translated

here is some translated info from that site

oops can't do that on this reply
