Force Editor Nonsense

Hi!

I don't know if this has been addressed at other sites, but I haven't seen it on the Matrix forums so I will address the subject here.

I have a couple problems with the Force Editor which makes designing and editing scenarios cumbersome and time consuming.

The first problem with the Force Editor is that everytime you open it, it opens to the first page of the first force. I should think the Force Editor should work like the Events Editor, that is, it maintains the page last viewed when switching to other editors. For example, if I am looking at event 105, and then go to the Force Editor to deploy a group based on event 105, I have to start with the first page of the first force and then "search" for the group that I want to deploy. That's bad design. If, after I have found that force, deployed it in accordance with event 105, and then return to the Events Editor, I will be looking at the page with event 105 on it. That's good design.

Another problem with the Force Editor is that once a group is assigned and is deployed and given objectives, if one chooses to change that group/assignment later on and make another, the new group will have the same objectives as the last, even if the name of the assignment is different. That means that first one must go about deleting the various objectives on the map and then deploying your new group and assigning it the objectives you want it to work with.

Between these two problems a looooot of time is wasted trying to edit a scenario. I'm sure the reader will realize that I'm currently working on a scenario, and it reminds me why doing so took sooooo much time.

It would also be nice if one could move whole groups in the OOB and not just single units.

Hopefully, one day these problems will get addressed. They would seem like easy fixes (at least saving the last page of the force editor viewed).

You can cut/copy and paste formations.

Ah, Kewl thanks! Will give it a shot.

I'm not a "scenario designer" by any stretch of the imagination, but when I am editing a scenario, it drives me crazy having to continually search for units in the Force Editor because it doesn't save your place.
