Decided to add to the 1959 NFL set of uniforms I did, now adding the 4 expansion teams of the early/mid 1960s. Here is a screen shot of the first two, Dallas and Atlanta, decided to do the Dallas uniform from the mid 60s instead of the one they wore the first season or two.

Vikings done, Saints to finnish. I still need to do the field art so they probably wont be uploaded to FBmax until tomorrow.

How do you post up your uniforms, because I lost, I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed when it comes to uniforms[:D]

Nice work. Once I start my league these will be great for "Throwback Week".

And the Saints.

No respect for the Cowboys. Sure they went like 1-13 in their first season, but you gotta have the white helmets.

Is my monitor going crazy or do the Saints jerseys look brown?

Also.. just noticed - you actually have the current Saints helmet on the old uniforms. Not that it looks bad, but it is technically wrong. They didn't add the extra black outline on the logo till the 90's. Originally it was just the black logo with a single white outline.

Was really tempted to do the early Dallas uniforms, it would be great if you do them! Im not sure about the Saints uniforms, for some reason I thought there earlier home jersey was a very dark brown vs black, maybe I will change it along with the logo on the helmet. In the meantime the field art is now done for all 4 teams.

Ok I have loaded the 4 1960s NFL teams (Cowboys, Falcons, Vikings and Saints) to FBmax.com. They are now in the unsorted files section. Each zip has the uniform, field art and helmet file. Below are examples of the helmets, Im going to do the same type helmets for the 1959 NFL teams that I have done. Will be using Tbirds other helmet for college teams and fictional teams.

Speaking of vintage teams, are you planning on doing any of the original AFL teams while you're on the early 60's thing?

At this point it is possible, I probably wont do any more college teams and maybe only one or two more fictional teams, so if I do anymore uniforms it would probably be the 60s AFL teams. That said I still have alot of field art to finnish up for my fictional teams, and the L1 helmet files to do also.

Just checked out the site that I was using as a reference for the NFL teams that I have done. They have 8 AFL teams for 1964 and 2 more are added by 68. I will probably do at least the 8 that existed in 1964.

Shouldn't the Falcons home jerseys be red? I thought they didn't go to black jerseys until the Jerry Glanville days in the late 80s/early 90s


EDIT: Sorry, I was mistaken. They did wear black jerseys the first few years.

Here's another "vintage" team... well.. not quite. The next phase of NFL expansion..

1977 Tampa Bay (they joined the league in 1976 and had orange numbers.. dont like that version)



btw, there's a site out there that has helmet images for every NFL helmet. They aren't quite as big and dont have the little lense flair on them.. but, if you dont feel like making your own for every team it may be quicker.

Im doing the mid 60s SD Chargers next, just in case anyone else is going to do vintage NFL/AFL uniforms.
