"Old" news for most of you, but check out the great photos of Busch Stadium III, and the proposed designs for the latest of the retro-style parks.

Of the yet-to-be-built parks, I really like the look of the Mets' ballpark. It's intentionally designed to resemble Ebbets Field.

The "forward to the past" style is a wonderful thing, but the owners are savvy about the economics of capturing an individual flavor to these fields. By reducing seating capacity while raising ticket prices, they hope to rake in more money at the gates than before.

These factors don't weigh heavily with me, as I haven't been to a pro game for 20 years.
I saw the Pirates play at Three Rivers, and I was struck at how inappropriate it was for baseball to be played in a freakin' football stadium.

I contrasted this to watching the game up close at old Watt Powell Park in Charleston WV. Capturing the feel of "being there" was sadly missing at the cookie-cutter stadiums.

However, these distinctive parks sure will look nice on TV, and as prk files for Pure Sim. [:D]
