Will the game work in Win XP? I've been hearing horror stories about running many games in Win XP.
Anyone know what video card is best for games? Not the action type, I hate them. I need a card that works with ALL my games. Currently have a Rage Fury Pro and can't play RGW, Cossacks, Stronghold (sometimes).

If it works with Win2K, it should (in theory) work with XP. They're nearly identical.

Try a GeForce2. They are by far the most forgiving, stable, and capable cards I've seen. Right now, they're also cheap- about $70-100 online.

Thanks, Is the GForce also known as the Nvidea cards? I did hear they had a problem in Win XP.

If it works in windows 2000 then all you have to do is set the game to windows 2000 compatability.

GDP,
I think your going to find that the GeForce2 is a good card, my problem is the motherboard and DirectX factor, all say theyre ok, but put em together and something screws up-I'm on a PIII 500mhz and the motherboard only supports 8mb of video RAM ( yeah I couldnt believe it either...) The tech guy for IBM was pretty amazed when I told him I was getting 32mb performance out of my Hercules GeForce2 64mb card. The motherboard should be frying he says -but its chugging along ok, just throws up when I try to play Diablo2...

Hello...

I have several computers, my oldest being a 150MH 486 DX with a 2MB Trident video card and a Sound Blaster-32 sound card. It has 128 MB of RAM and a 500 MB fixed disk.

The program runs fine on it. The animations are optimized and the rest of the program is not graphics intensive. The program does run much faster on my newer 500MH Pentium II. You should have at least 500 MB of fixed disk space available. To run in the higher screen resolution, 1024x768, you will need at least a 4MB video card.

Hope this helps...
