Level of Detail

I understand that units will have major weapon components listed for the features page. Will large units be able to have units attached or unattached as needed. An example might be the amtrac units of the USMC. They were organic to the divisions since their initial uses was for logistic ship to shore. Later their combat potential was realized at Tarawa when the first several waves of marines came ashore in them. Later in mid 44, they were pulled from divisional control to corp level since the divisions started to misuse them. Will this be allowed. Also will we be able to modify units to&e like was done or is the computer going to control this.

On a side note, when a force entrenches, is the level going to abstracted by a number like 1 bad through 9 good or are the defenders going to be able to specify what type of defenses will be more prevelant. Example, mines and anti tank traps work better against tanks while pill boxes stop infantry. Will the defender be allowed to specify what his defenses might entail, even in the abstract like 35% mines 40% pill boxes, 10% concrete reinforced structures, 15% anti tank traps. This level of detail might force the attacker to choose his assault team better.

I feel as thought specifying how many pillboxes, mines, etc. is an excessive level of detail for this game. I think that if a player wants that much control, then Steel Panthers is the game they need. I'm not bashing your question, I just feel like this game should be a little more strategic in focus. Please feel free to argue my point though... :)

Sorry, no attachment of units and yes, fortifications are just a number from 1 to 9 for each unit and each base.

I understand what Joel was saying about different units. Will the game have vehicle battalions like 1st marine tank battalion with 46 M4 Shermans, similar to War in Russia. Or will divisions have AFV's (Generic Tanks) like in Pacwar.

What types of vehicles will be included, Amphibious tanks, tank destoyers, amphibious tractors to provide protection to infantry squads?

Will armored cars be just recon vehicles or will specific models be listed?

How about artillery. Will there be just guns or will specific calibers be listed?

Hello...

Individual weapons platforms are detailed and attenuated. There are not, as Joel mentioned, separable. Below, are a few units and the table of equipment for each.

Hello...

Not by the player. Some units may be upgraded by the game, however.
