A pair of v1.2 bugs

Howdy All,

I have been playing WaW for about two weeks now and using the 1.2 patch exclusively. I think I have found a pair of bugs.

I am playing the long campaign as Germans and I have seen these bugs in both of the two games I have played.

The first is that the British (Western Allies) completely evacuate Gibraltar in the second turn (Summer 1941). They did it both times and both times I had an easy game as I snatched "The Rock" from the British so early and without a shot being fired. [:D]

The other "bug" is much more minor...

It seems that if I have only one supply unit in Poland during the "movement phase" when I get to the "production phase" it vanishes from the screen. This only occurs in Poland however, but it can be reproduced turn after turn. Two more things about this "bug". The first is that the supply 'is' still there. I am sure of this because there never is any be partisan activity and when the next movement phase starts Poland will have two supplies in it because the AI will try to move another into the region (I have area supply turned on).

If you need a save game let me know and I can dig through the auto saves but both of these are easy to repoduce.

Hope this helps make a fine game better!

If you could mail me a "just before" and a "just after" save it would be splendid.

My email is janbs@stofanet.dk

Are you accounting for the supply that gets used up fighting Partisans in Poland after your movement phase?

Files have been sent.

Also, note the "vanishing supply unit bug" seems to happen in Eastern Poland, Greece as well as Yug and as it occurs only during the construction phase there really is not before or after file for me to send... But the other files I sent should work fine as it was happening during those turns in Eastern Poland. ;-)

Yes and no.

There was no partisan activity in the regions as I have supply and a full garrison. No graphics, no partisan icon, no message, etc.

The supply unit 'is there'. It is just not visible during the construction phase. Actually with area supply turned on, after the AI is done moving the other players and I regain control... The area will have TWO supply units in it. One will still have its movement path noted (as the AI just moved it for "area supply" prior to my turn starting I suspect) and I have generally just been "moving it back" manually. ;-)

re: invisible supply units, i also notice that when i undo movements of supply units (from southern india to england) they disappear in the screen during the movement phase but then reappear after i have made a couple other moves within the same phase. too bad i didnt have a save game file for that ...

Thank you for sending me the saves. I finally had some time to look at them.

The supply situation is working exactly as intended. When you finish your turn yout units in Poland will use up 1 supply to perform anti-partisan duty. You mention that you see no partisan attacks - the reason you dont is exactly because the garrison is supplied and hence prevents partisans from become a problem. When playing with area supply the computer will try to get 1 supply to each area plus 1 extra supply to areas that risk partisans. Thats why you see 2 supply in Poland on the following turn.

So, no bug there.

As for the AI behaviour. It does look unfortunate. I have passed your saves along but I cannot promise anything.
