Unfortunately, no. The game has only one screen resolution, 800x600.

The game DOES allow for zooming out, which helps in the deployment phase. Unfortunately, I've experienced a few crashes when trying to play a turn in "zoom-out" mode.
The reason for sticking to 800*600 mode may lie in the fact that SPWaW will consume 100% of your system resources during play, regardless of how much video memory or RAM you may have. This is why I recommend saving your current turn after every two or three hours. This is especially important in very large scenarios or campaigns.

Every two to three hours? I'm an experience RPGer; that is far to long a period of play to risk.
I've had some conflicts with the video card, mostly due to the UOSU not working in fullscreen mode. That's only on this computer; the other one works fine, but has conflicts with instant messaging services.

This isn't a reply as much as a request for guidance. I'm running SPWAW 8.2 on a Dell Deminsion 4700 with 2 gig of ram, XP pro and a Radeon x300 series video card. I've set the card to 16 bit and 800x600. When I start the game I the intro screens come n fine, but once I hit the first working screen, the colors are very off - mostly purple. Besides looking strange, it has caused the game to crash fairly quickly. I do have the latest video drivers loaded and can run SPMBT with no problems.
The only time I've gotten SPWAW to run properly is right after I've loaded the game with the above video settings. I suppose I could reload everytime I want to play, but that'll get old pretty quick.
Thansk in advance for any help!
Barry

SPWW2 is going to be available at higher resoultions. Why has this not been done for SPWAW?

Because Matrix Games has stopped working on this game.
