Runtime error 76 --Path Not Found [Resolved]

This is what I get when the program tries to read Lahman and populate my league. No go --crash to desktop. [:(]

When you say "tries to read Lahman", I just want to be sure you are using the Lahman database that comes already built into PureSim Baseball 2007. Can you give any more info on whether you can duplicate this, and if so what steps duplicate it for you? Thanks.

Running IE6. Set up real player association, 1946. Finances on. Goes to pick human player--I pick a team. After that, I get the run time 76 error. I saw this in early versions of 2005 -- the program wasn't reading the Lahman database correctly.

Did you copy over any files from PureSim 2005 into the PureSim 2007 folder yet?
I know it reads the built-in Lahman database perfectly so, maybe this is an issue with a file you copied in?

To Shaun and Erik -- I uninstalled PS2005 after moving my mods folder into 2007. I went so far as to uninstall and then reinstall 2007. Same problem occurs.

1. Be sure to reinstall puresim 2007 after uninstalling 2005 (though I don't think that is the problem here -- but just to be safe)
2. If you copied over the file "photocache.mdb" from the ps2005\mods\faces folder into your puresim 2007\mods\faces folder please delete that. I think what's happening is the game is looking for faces in the old location because of this cache file. Simply delete the file and PureSim will prompt you to rebuild it next time you run. I'll bet that is the problem.

There it is. Something in my mods folder caused it. I removed all the contents, moved them to another location, and now it works.
Ok, sorry for the confusion. I'll add these back, one at a time, until I figure out which files are causing the crash. For player-created mods, we DO need to pinpoint the ones that can cause crashes. I obviously had one.

See my post above. I'm almost positive its "photocache.mdb" in the mods\faces folder.

Yes. Rebuilding the face cache was it. Sorry for the trouble, guys. Oh, well, it's something to add to the knowledge database. My apologies for getting flustered. [:o]
