Help!

Only twice of a dozen or so times have I made it to the "Colonel...." screen. I make it past the intro but almost always I am dumped out of the program afterwards. I have hit the enter key at various points during the intro but the program still crashes.

How can i fix this?

First, try this: Go to the WAW directory. Start the game by double-clicking on "intro.exe." If that stabilizes the game start, you are having the same problem I did: Installation routine creates a DOS-box type shortcut which keys on Start.bat, and that's what gave me trouble.

Do away with the DOS-box shortcut. Create one directly from intro.exe and you will notice it is NOT a pif-type shortcut. Instead, it takes you directly to the game start screen. Worth a try

Glen - Happy it worked out for you. I think what happens (though who really knows with Win98)is that for some systems, starting the game with what in effect is DOS Start.bat) is not such a good idea. (I think maybe it causes DOS to try to run in the background same time as Win98 executes the WAW app, which if true would be asking for trouble.

Come to think of it, why would we want to start a Windows app from a DOS pif file??? If you create a shortcut from a DOS file, that is what you get.

Not that it matters. If the game runs OK now, that's what counts.
