Using Pictures

I donwloaded the pictures download which is great...pictures really add to the game.
However, I noticed, in my '55 season, Joe Nuxhall did not have a picture. So I went googling for a pic of Joe Nuxhall and found one. I saved it and then resized it.
I then went to the game and selected the auto-assign pics. It read exactly the same as before...400 photos assigned.
Now I saved the pic as Joe_Nuxhall and resized it etc...so what else do I have to do to get a picture working?
Also I believed there were 6000+ pictures in this download. Why did the game only assign 400? Did it just do it for the season I'm running?
