Possible United States unfreeze bug?

In my current game I'm playing as Germany against the AI with the 1.200 patch, for some reason the US was unfrozen even though I did nothing to declare war. I took England in the Spring 1941 turn then in the Summer 1941 turn I had a few subs I think in the North Atlantic 9 sea region or the next one over, anyway when the Western allies or I should say the British attacked them with a few light fleets and although I think one had a a american roundel, the subs were destroyed but after firing back the America enters the war cutscene came on, but whats strange is that only Germany was at war with the US and not Japan according to the political status screen, I wonder if the computer got confused with what units are British and American, this has happened two out of three games I've played so far with the patch. Also as far as I now if Finland is politicaly frozen then the five supply units in Finland should not be able to move right? But they were used some were in a past turn even though Finland is still frozen, I can't really say were they were shipped to but this could be a bug with taking Norway. I have a clean install of the game with the 1.040 and then the 1.200. Hopefully its just me and not the patch as I would much rather play with 1.200 because of the improved AI among other things, of course their is the undo move bug with transports so it would not surprise me if there are other problems.

Please send a save of the game just before the US enters the war. Send to
janbs@stofanet.dk and
2by3@2by3games.com
We have a fix in test for the transport/undo problem. If we can find a problem with the unfreezing the US, we'll try to fix it.
As for Finland, supplies may always move, even in frozen areas, so that is working correctly.

Sorry I don't have the save game file I just continued playing, it made for a very interesting game, the Japanese AI decided not to attack the US but went for China instead. Anyway I'm going to select Autosave in the Game options and restart a new game to see if I can reproduce the possible bug, if I have the same problem I'll be sure to email you the save, but it still would be nice if you guys could just check AI file maybe?
Just to see if there is a problem with that.

I think I have had the same problem. In a game I am in USA unfrozen by a sub in sea zone between Canada and England.

It does seem to be random but it I think it is a new bug in the patch possibly when the rule change was added were if Germany invades Canada then the US becomes unfrozen the computer could be confusing certain Atlantic sea regions with this rule change but according to the rules if the US is at war with Germany it also has to be at war the Japan, as I mentioned before when this happened I looked in the political status screen and the US was only at war with Germany, weird.

This is what happened to me. When playing against the AI, I succesfully invaded the UK, and when the the AI finished its turn the USA unfroze, declaring war. I didn't check up if it also declared war on Japan. I thought it might have been a change in the rules, so if the UK fell then the UISA would declare war. If I can reproduce the situation I'll send the file to Jan and to 2by3. Oh and I did't have subs close to America's shores.
Greetings.

We had a case in test where the US AI was building a carrier air unit and moving it to a UK carrier where it then attacked and caused the US to unfreeze. We fixed this. Not sure what could be causing your problems, but with several reports, obviously something is wrong. We could use a save.

Turns out we think this was caused by a US supply unit being sunk on a transport. We have a fix for this in testing now.

I just received a email from 2by3 about the test fix for the US unfreeze bug, they said they would send me the fix as soon as I emailed them which I just did. I've been busy with another game I just got, Fear, so I'm not playing world at war at the moment but once I get the new fix I'll report back to see if the problem was cleared up.

Perhaps the easiest way to duplicate this bug is to forget to move the German sub in the Atlantic on turn one. Then when the Brits try to sink it there is a chance US unfreezes. This happened last night to my friend so maybe it can be easily duplicated.

We fixed a bug that we think was the problem here. I've given the fix out to several players, and will email it to anyone that is getting the problem that contacts me. I've sent Matrix the patch and I hope they will post it soon. If it turns out that this problem still exists with the new patch, we'll have to look at it again.
