Would n't it be great if you could choose which rail-lines in newly captured territory could be given priority with regards to changing their gauge e.g In the '41 Campaign Axis would most likely want to give priority to utilising rail lines to Moscow within its newly controlled territory as soon as possible in order to assist its push to take Moscow before the russian winter hits.

IIRC, this was a feature in the old Second Front game. Engineering units could be directed to fix the priorities you set.
Good suggestion...I'll remind the team about this!

Lets not forget that the Germans actualy captured a large amount of Russian rolling stock that permitted them to use the portion of the captured Russian rail lines that were not wrecked. Although it involved transfers this stroke of luck delayed the impact of the inadequate logistics preparations. (Barry A. Leach, German Strategy Against Russia, 1939-41, Oxford at the Clarendon Press,1973, p206.)
Leach reports that the Germans avoided a fuel crisis when they approached Vitebsk and Smolensk by:
1) capturing large stocks of fuel and oil in Barannovichi and Minsk,
2) captured in June sufficient locomotives and stock cars to activate the rail way line Warsaw-Molodetzno-Polozk, and
3) engineers working round the clock converted the line Vilna-Molodetzno-Minsk-Borissov by by early July.

If you mean the Second Front by GG and SSI, no, it doesn't have that capability.
