I've been going over the rules/manual for WiR, and it is impressive. This game covers it all. The only other game that would have been this complete was that one that never made it out the door, Road to Moscow. I can't wait for the next version to come out, so that I can try my hand at it. Thanks for picking this one, guys!

My only critique has to do with the Soviet leaders. I was a little surprised at the ratings for Vasilevsky, which was only a '5'. Frankly, Vasilevsky was probably the Soviets' greatest strategic commander of WWII. He orchestrated operation Uran, or Uranus, the destruction of the 6th German Army at Stalingrad. As for Zhukov, though he was a tremendously popular figure in the Soviet Union, much of his value was limited to 1941-42, when his willingness to fight was a great morale booster. Unfortunately, his leadership abilities in battle are suspect. While certainly competent enough, Zhukov's weakness for linearity and narrowness often resulted in heavy Soviet losses. One only has to read about his operation Mars, and the battle of the Zeelowe heights to see his methods were less than efficient. It might be better to give Vasilevsky a '9' rating, and Zhukov, a '6' rating to reflect these more recent findings from Soviet archives.
