Well I finally finished a campaign scenario, and near the middle/end saw a couple of oddities.

Every so often, one of my units would retreat, and in the hex the started in, a blue flag would appear with the "OBJ" tag on it. What is this?

Also, near the end, after my troops had been pummled by German Airborne units, (Damn those boys have a lot of attacks..), while I was trying to rush my valiant Engineers from the rear up to the engagement areas, they started getting suppression numbers. They had not ever been fired upon, but nevertheless, all of a sudden they were getting suppressed. Any ideas as to what might be going on here?

Anyway I lost a marginal defeat, and although I wasted 11 German AFV's I also lost over 300 sons of Russia. Time to start another campaign, this time without deleting all of my HMG's as I did accidentally last time...

Yeah, I have seen Ghost suppression too. I was delaying a Japanese force and all of a sudden, my C tank platoon just started running for the hills. They were at the bottom of the map guarding some objective hexes, with no Japs anywhere in sight. All the known Japanese forces were about 40 hexes north of there attacking 2 clusters of objective hexes (luckily none of the troops in the north started to flee). I ended up with a decisive victory too.

Was your force pretty well shot up? When you get below a certain fraction of yor origianl force left in "good order" your force will become "broken" and while suffer suppression penealties of this nature. iT says "broken" if tehenemy becomes broken, I don't recall seeing an indication other than this ghost suppression as you call it when your force gets broken...

Yes, my force was pretty well fried at that point. That was pretty much what I thought was happening.

Any ideas as to what the blue flags with "OBJ" appearing on them is all about? Again, I only see this when a unit is retreating. Often times it appears to be crew...

Well, my force was not shot up. As I said, we ended up with a decisive victory there too. And it was rather weird too. First the C0 unit fled, then I manged to rally him in the next turn. Turn after that, the C1 unit starts to flee, but the C0 unit is fine. I never got him rallied before the end of the battle, but I suppose I should reload the save and see what happens.

Blue flags are objective hexes assigned by the computer for the forces, unless you did it yourself. And they could objective hexes for the AI side...WB

Well yes, the "OBJ" clued me to that...

But should those be appearing on the map during a game? And why would the AI want to go to a hex where my tank just blowed up...

I also got the blue flag bug. On turn 2, a German motercycle unit got shot up and retreated after I ended my turn. When it was done retreating, a blue flag appeared underneath it. When it was my turn again, the flag was gone. I don't see this as having anything to do with actual victory conditions.

I'm celebrating! I just realized that my author box says "member" instead of "junior member". I guess this is automatically changed depending upon the number of posts. Do I get any more money for this?

It depends !!! you get TWICE as much money for every post here, as you got before, go check it
