I'm playing out a historical sim and wondering how i can change ruth from pitcher to RF. I can see where I can edit his bio, but when I pull down to change his position, I only have options to keep him as a starter, relief, or closer... and that's it.

to my knowledge you cannot change the Current Ruth you have in your asc. from pitcher to fielder.

what most players do when confronting this issue is, in 1918 or later, you go into his bio, and force retire him. then go into the players pages to import him from sometime after 1918 when he became the best thing since best things began being rated.

if the import doesnt work, just "create hitter" from the players page and make your own Bambino, i did this once. the ratings for him in this period would be prety straight forward, mostly 100s

am hoping to see in a future patch the ability to use pitchers as pinch hitters, and hitters as pitchers, and why the game doesnt do this already with pitchers already getting batting ratings it would seem to be a no brainer.

(1) Start up a quick 4-team association that you don't actually plan on using.

(2) Import Babe Ruth from whatever season you want to start using him as a hitter.

(3) Open his card and write down all of his ratings.

(4) Go back into the association you are using and create a hitter.

(5) Edit this player's name and stats to match what you wrote down for your "hitting" Ruth. Use the edit function also to put him on the proper team.

(6) [;)]Make sure to "force retire" Babe the pitcher, or you will have games where he pitches AND plays the field (and gets to bat twice in the order).

You can keep the 4-team association handy for this type of thing. I've found it useful when the AI retires a player earlier than I thought necessary. I just use steps 1-5 above and "un-retire" him.
