Rob & I started a game under 1.6. all was fine until we ran into sync troubles for two turns.

after 1.8, the game self-corrected

now we are again out of sync since 3 turns

wtf, i think this should had been already eliminated long time ago

what causes a out of sync of the game please

in my other games with xargun, we are out of any trouble since 12 months and my game with rob is only 3 months old and already out of sync.....

comments ?

EDIT : May it happen if the game was accidently setted up with auto sub control switched to human by both players after turn 1 ?

I don´t have a solution but I know that e.g. ship strafing at 100 feet causes out of syncs. So no barge or PT boat strafing![:-]

Please don't think that is the only thing that causes this bug.  The developers don't know all the causes, which is why they haven't been able to fix it.  Either player hitting ESC at any point during the execution or replay can cause it.  I wouldn't be surprised if they had found that sneezing or thinking nasty thoughts about your opponent causes it too.

They are working on it, but don't expect to have it fixed soon.

After the switch to 1.8 all of my PBEMS came back into synch.  After 1.801 they all immediately went back out.  :(

My game went out of synch with 1.8. We are about to try Pompacks patented method for resynchronising the turns. Anybody else try this one?

About 6 times now...[:D] Works great! For those of you who need the details:

1. Japanese player, receives Allied turn.

2. Japanese player turns off COMBAT REPORTS

3. Japanese player watches combat, enters orders and sends to Allied Player. (Japanese player does without combat reports and SIGINT for one turn; take good notes during combat)

4 . Allied player watches replay with COMBAT REPORTS ON (AFAIK)

5. Allied player enters orders and sends to Japanese Player

6. Japanese Player receives allied turn, turns ON COMBAT REPORTS

7. Japanese player watches combat, enters orders and sends to Allied Player.

It works for me too, but only for 2 or 3 turns before the problem comes back... [:(]

Really detracts from the fun a bit, are there any other options, or is such an early re-occurance just bad  luck?

Try setting your windows SWAP file up to maximum size. Also helps not be running anything in the background when running game turns, i think.

EDIT: although somewhat controversial, PT boats seem to provoke the problem, esp. if aircraft get after them. Probably barges will cause the problem as well.

@Oliver Heindorf, you could edit your top post so the subject was more indicative that the thread contained a solution to the sync problem, rather than just another rant about it....

Just an idea.

Out of sync is when the Allied combat replay is not the same as the Japanese combat phase. You know it when you see your base taken over in the replay and when you are in the orders phase you still have control ofthe base. Or your CA took two torps in the replay and in the orders phase she has no damage. These are the sorts of things which tell you that you are out of sync. It is best if the Japanese player also sends the combat.txt file along with the other two files so the Allie dplayer can see what actually happened.

The IJN turn is always the correct one, since the IJN runs the turn. If the Allied player sees something different (i.e. - if the USS Mugwuffin is sunk in the Allied results but not in the IJN results and the Allied player checks, the USS Mugwuffin will still be afloat.
