If you can play WITP on you system there should be no problem playing TOAW.

Can you play SPWAW on your laptop??

In general, the listed minimum system specs are conservative - in other words, it will run on much worse systems based on our testing, but we feel that the most acceptable performance is in that range.

My lappy has a dual graphics deal. A GeForce Go 7400 and an Intel GMA 950 (integrated/ shared memory). TOAW III runs smoothly on both. It doesn't appear a graphics card would affect play (unless it had less than 32 MB memory shared or onboard). You figure this would be so as the engine has been around a long time.

I do have a suggestion/ question: Any chance on some widescreen support in the future?

TOAW III (and CoW, for that matter) supports widescreen. When the window it plays in is maximized, the game scales out properly to fill the screen, with all the extra map, map, map!

I can't get it to stretch on my lappy. Maximizing the game leaves it letterbox. It wont allow mwe to pull it to the edges.

Not a huge deal but having the extra map onscreen would be sweet!

What resolution are you running?

1280x800. It is a Sony Vaio SZ, 13.3 widescreen. Maybe it is not a common resolution?

Just an FYI, my desktop is a 1600x1200 resolution and the game works perfectly and looks fantastic in that! [:)]

I'm wondering if it's a driver issue? The resolutions aren't hard-coded, and the maximizing is done through a windows call, nothing special. Doen Notepad do the same thing when maximized?

Thanks,
Ralph

It could be. The drivers are the Sony drivers that came with the machine. I know you can try some crazy driver mod to get the Nvidia drivers to work on this but it is a work machine too so I can't really mess around.
GGWAW also wont go full screen on this. Wordpad expands fine.

Doesn't affect gameplay at all, which is the main thing. Maybe I'll try and mess around with it this weekend.

The game does stretch to fit my 24 inch widescreen.
Things do look a little pixelated however and everything is really small.

It would be nice if a future patch let us go to at least 1600x1200

LOL. My desktop is 1600x1200 and that works fine.

Computers drive me crazy.

1600x1200 is native. I don't know if that is a yes or no.

The map area stretches to fill the available space. At levels below 1024x768, you lose some displays, buttons and other things. The sice of the indivudual units stays the same.

Sorry, didn't understand the question. The monitor is 21 inches @ 1600x1200 and it fills the screen. Looks great to boot!
