I was watching the free public domain William Wyler U.S.A.A.F. war documentary the Memphis Belle:A Story of a Flying Fortress(1944) and noticed the war planners order of battle and how it relates to the development of your Eagle Day to the Bombing of the Reich wargame. What the war planners are doing is just like the game.
However look at the diversionary tactics that they use in this film to confuse the Luftwaffe. You should incorporate this tactical aspect to improve the game.Take some time off to download this film and watch that part of it.It will open your eyes and you can make a better game.I preferred the mpeg1 format

Here is the link.

You will like it I'm pretty sure.

Thanks jjb17463rd,

to save anyone else the time of downloading this film, perhaps I could summarize the tactics.

The raid filmed is Memphis Belle going to Wilmhelmshaven. This raid is unescorted by fighters, due to clever decoy raids.

1) a preceeding raid of 100 B24's doing an eastern decoy towards the Danish coast, drawing off the fighters from the Memphis Belle attack.

2) A heavily escorted B17 raid inland to the southwest of the Memphis Belle attck, to draw away fighters from Holand.

3) a formation of B26 bombers and Spitfires preceeding this, attacking a site in Belgium/France.

These three decoy attacks split the Axis defences and draw away fighters from Belle.

Fantastic stuff.

Rest assured that all this kind of stuff will be in the new game. [;)]

Thanks

also, as OB says, it is there, it does not need to be added, it was always in the game, it just depends on how well the player plots it and plans it, and how well the weather lets it work

Speaking of weather...will the chance of a raid being cancelled or delayed be changed so that that tiny little wisp of a cloud on a clear day in the formup area won't cause the raid to abort or delay??? (I'll get off my soapbox now[:'(] )
