I have the game but am just now getting around to playing it thanks to work. It has been about 3 months. I am a little overwhelmed after playing Strategic Command 2 demo this weekend this one seems a little bit more confusing.

What is the BEST way to learn this game wihout PBEM included, I mean tutorial wise or maybe some other website or fansite that has a good breakdown of the game?

My recommendation would be to: (1) take the short tutorial, then (2) play as Russia in the 1941 scenario with simple supply, that way you'll pick up the basics of land combat and research, then (3) play as Germany in the 1940 scenario with advanced supply - by this point you will be able to get a better feel for air and navy and general game mechanics. As you play, you can refer to the manual. You could just read the manual straight through, but I've found it is often best (and more fun) to learn by doing. [;)]

Ok thanks

Are there any fansites with mods and online tutorials and things like that? I am going through the manual now I guess it is just going to take time.

If you go through the first tutorial, play with simple supply, and let the AI do your production, you'll find that playing Russia will be pretty easy. Then go through the second tutorial and take control of production. Then add Advanced supply. By that point you're ready to move on to another country.

The first time I read the manual I played all the countries at the same time, to try to understand everything, nevertheless I had to reread the manual a couple of times to grasp it completely. Then I played as the axis with all features on, advaced suplly, fog of war, no autosupply (this one should be on for more fun)...
One of the thing it took me longer to understand was why I couldn't move the fleets when were left in the middle of the sea, the reason there's got be a link to a supply point, that means a line of transports, also HF needs 4 supply points to move more than one sea zone.
I guess with three or for games against the AI, you would be ready to ask for a pbem in the Opponents wanted section.
I also recommend you surf in the Forum I did that aswell, people are really kind and write some real good stuff.
I particulary enjoyed the complete developement of a 2 vs 2 email game posted in the After Acion Reports section: a511 and Lebatron vs Stonewashedjackson and Dobeln (don't forget to change the number of days to 180 so it is displayed).
