I did not know if this is a bug or intended but i have seen sometimes that a player is released at the end of a season but later drafted in the amateuer draft even when he was 35 year old and his abilities were declining. It seems that the program prefers verterans over youngsters. In my commish-test-league i had manually correct some rosters before spring training as some teams had only 69 players on their rosters. I signed a young players and send him to the A. The AI suggested signing of an older (e.g. 35 years +) player to a minor league contract.
