Im doing a MCSE course. Well I bought the CD's of the course second hand. Im running through it and will just sit the exams when I feel Im ready.
However I have Windows XP home edition. To do the simulations it seems like you need XP Professional.
Is there anyway you can download the extra Admin tools tht come with XP professional or do I need to purchase X professional!! If so thas a real downer

Are you looking afor things like Active Directory tools in the admin pack? If so you can download them directly from Microsoft. You can also buy the MS Action Pack which contains a whole of stuff to buils a little network at home. otherwise look here for trial software:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/downlo ... fault.mspx
Look here for online seminars:
http://www.microsoft.com/seminar/mmcfee ... nce=100404
And here for virtual labs:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/trainc ... fault.mspx
The virtual labs are especially good as you can do almost anything in them.
Becoming an MCSE is not cheap. Here's a link to getting a second shot at an exam for free

Hi Wodin
It has been a while since I looked into these issues but I think the main problem is you don't have IIS (Internet Information Systems) with the home edition of XP. Maybe this has changed but it was a major problem for one of my co-workers at the time studying from home.

Thanks very much. Well the Course CDs I got for a bargain. So now I only have to pay for each exam.
