A6M5 vs. A6M5c?

Hello Forum!

I am in February 1943 with Wolfpack and I have my Jacks rolling off the assembly line (couple months early!) and am contemplating the difference between M5 and M5c? Doesn't seem like much. I want to try to produce it a little early and upgrade my CVs Zeros. Which might be better?

Use the c variant. That's the carrier capable one. The A6M5 is strictly land based.

IIRC>>>>>I think you can't upgrade the 2, 3, or 3c to the 5c.....you only can fill out 5c sqdrns as they arrive........so better concentrate of the 5........

Umm......IIRC the 5c model is a fighter bomber not a fighter.

Hence the 2,3, and 3c not upgrading to it.....

I seem to recall the 5c being a fighter bomber also.

I just started receiving the 5 and I had them stationed on a carrier just fine. the only thing is the range is 5/6 IIRC, but thats fine for carrier operations.

What is the final answer here?  Is it the CV Model or a FB?  When I get home, I will get out a book and see if I can find out as well...

The A6M5 is a fighter (carrier capable), A6M5c is the fighter bomber version.

He was confusing the A6M3 and A6M3a combo with the A6M5 version. The A6M5c is the fighter bomber version. Better Dur and firepower at the cost of reduced MVR

I think they get rather too friendly in some instances. Instances which you probably want to avoid.

Only the A6M5 can be used as fighters in your carrier daitais. The A6M5 is a fighter bomber.
