I have been playing this since the game was introduced to the Amiga platform, I bought the 357 or there abouts build from Jesse Spears company, Is it worth speeding and $45 aus to get much of the same? My real question is logistics, the resupply of under the ships was broken in the original H2 spears was going to fix it, but it wasn't is the Matrix edition going support underway replenishment?

Not in this version no. UnRep is a database issue and v3.7 is focused on removing most if not all of the bugs that limited the enjoyment of Harpoon II. There will be very signifigant DB changes for v3.8 that will introduce a wide variety of new changes to the game (including mine warfare, Co-Operative Engagment Capability, and a better logistics model).

The current scope of the game precludes long term campagins (which is the ultimate goal). Keep in mind that UnRep will introduce a totally new dimension of the game in terms of time and logistics. Scenarios will then require ports, cargo transfer, and everything that a modern logistics train needs. That in itself is a signifigant job.

But Unrep was there from the start F5 or F6 replenished ships mag the manual claimed, that was a bug, if you can't do that now, then it is still a bug. yes!

Yummy, looking forward to it. I don't know how much money I've put into Harpoon, starting with buying an Amiga to play the first version and going through every version since. Hopefully it will now live up to its full potential.

Will version 3.8 be a free upgrade for 3.7 users?

It's Matrix's decision but we're a long way off from deciding that yet.

Speaking as a customer...

TOAW3, which is in a rather similar situation, was priced at $40 and they are already discussing the next free enhancement. For H3ANW, priced at $50, I would expect that short of a major rewrite of the engine or a significant expansion pack, all updates would be free. I consider my $50 as an investment in the further development of H3ANW as well as a purchase of the original package. In fact, my purchase of *any* future major updates or expansions would be contingent on the quality and timeliness of the release of minor updates, enhancements and of course the database editor.

Like I said, speaking as a customer... [:)]
