How do I use a diffrent DB (specifically DB2000 for the WW3 scenarios)? Can I modify the selections available in the H3 Configuration?

Create directory structure like this:
D:\Harpoon 3 Advanced Naval Warfare\Databases\DB2000_V6531
And then add a folder like this:
D:\Harpoon 3 Advanced Naval Warfare\Databases\DB2000_V6531\Scenarios
Put database in the first directory structure, scenarios in the other.
Use the Harpoon Launcher utility located in:
D:\Harpoon 3 Advanced Naval Warfare
To change to the database of choice.
Good luck.

So if I bring in a 3rd pary DB, I have to have thos two other files also. For example, I want to bring DB2000 over. Does that mean the DB maker has to also include those other two files?

I copied the .xml file into the new folder and just edited the name and descriptive text in notepad, opened the launcher utility and there it was in the list of Db available.

To answer your question thewood1:
For DB2000, no, you do not need any addition text or dat files as they are the same as those in the ODB.
For any databases that have changes to any of these text files, such as the ANWDB and Dale Hillier's ADB, then yes, these new files need to be in that database folder.
The launcher has the ability to load the dat and text files that it needs for the database selected.

I installed and ran scenarios using the the DB2000, Colonial Wars 1950-64 and the 1965-1979 databases and had no problems with them, using the folder structure as mentioned above.

The
PlayersDB database and scenarios that have been configured for use with ANW only need to be unzipped directly into your ANW
Databases folder.
All the required folders will be set up for you at that point.
If you used the default installation path, you will find it here:
C:\Matrix Games\Harpoon 3 Advanced Naval Warfare\Databases
