What modifiers are present in the displayed stregths of the unit? Or more exactly: are the terrain modifiers present in these values or must i have them account "manually"?

Thanks

There are no terrain modifiers present.

You mean presented.

I do believe terrain makes a difference in combat, but no, there is no way to tell what that effect is, that I know of.

The best way to get a feel for what's goint to happen and how terrain may effect your outcome is to use the "Plan an Attack" feature. As you add forces into the attack you are given prompts as to what the probability of winning the combat is.

Hope that helps some.

Besides reading the manual [8|]

Caution is advised when using this feature. I don't think it takes everything into account. It's good when you're learning the game, but as you get more used to it you should just go with what feels right.

Yes, i.e. units on tactical reserve behind the enemy line, artillery your recon hasn't yet detected etc.

Good points by Telumar and G.Delicious there.

Like they say, you develop more of a feel for the combats as you play, but you also have to be wary for any reserves that might jump into the battle.

I do have a Terrain Effects Word doc. If anyone has interest PM me. It can be deduced from the manual (ACOW that is and I haven't seen the TOAW III one yet), but on 2 sheets of paper it's easier.

The CoW manual was WAY off one this, and the manual was substantially revised here, for readability's sake, as well as for accuracy.
