Hi guys,

What is the best way to inflict damage using bombers and/or arty? Do you need a certain amount to make a real impression? Is there a rule of tumb you can use? Or is it just ineffective?

Any thoughts would be welcome.
Best,
Glenn

Use them in conjunction with ground units, basically.

You CAN get some mileage out of pure bombardments in certain circumstances. Airfield attacks with both bombers and artillery can be effective. Attacks on units with very heavy density penalties are also good, but it is much better to add a ground unit to the attack if you can.

Also in modern scenarios air (or especially helicopter) attacks against pure armour units can be devastating.

Bomber strikes on pure artillery units can work to undig defending artillery, but it does take a pretty heavy strike to do so consistently. Certain aircraft types, like the German JU-87, which have a higher anti-armor rating can wreak havoc on pure armor units in some circumstances. Destroying bridges is a good use for bombers or sinking fleets if their anti-shipping rating is high enough.

Keep in mind all scenarios are different in what does and doesn't work.

I'd say I use them most often for a little extra punch where I want to break through on the ground.
