I would like to be able to swap or buy back control of a key province through a treaty when invoking a cease fire to end a less than decisive war. A good example is my present game as Sweden where against Spain I lost Zealand then reoccupied it but it remains a Swedish occupied Spanish province deep within Sweden's empire. Other than sending the bulk of the Swedish army on a risky journey across Europe to capture Madrid I am left with a nitpicking war against outlying Spanish territory whilst losing opportunities to attack or defend against deadlier nearer neighbours.
