I'm not sure if I've patched to the latest one or not, so it is possible that my suggestion is already addressed.

If there are any additional patches, and it is in anyway possible, the following would be a boon to game play.

I find that I use the 'A' (list air resources) and 'O' (list all resources) hotkeys a lot, and generally there is good funcationality and useability here. My suggestion would be, (a) to make the the screens sortable by each of the columns, and if possible (b) to allow unit orders to be issued from these screens. The former is possible in some games, such as War in Pac, and in Civ 4, so it is possible I suppose. The latter may not be as easy to do, but perhaps some sort of Alt-click-command combination could cause a units report screen to open up from the lists?

You can do this already. Right click on the unit name in the column, and you will open the Unit Report for the unit. By left-clicking on the mission in the Air Unit Report, you can change the mission, or after having opened the Unit Report, you can also change the mission from within it.

Likewise, from the OOB, you can right-click on any unit name to bring up the Unit Report. From there, you can set loss tolerances, order to dig in, or go into reserve modes.

Also, you have the formation report which is helpful for running through all the units in a particular formation. From this screen, without entering each individual Unit Report, you can also order units to dig in, or go into either of the reserve modes. This is particularly helpful, when you have formations that are in reserve, or in reorganization, as the units in these units generally have nothing better to do than to dig deeper.

Thanks Jam, that is helpful. I'm gradually figuring out all the little functions. That (a) function (being able to sort by each column) SURE would be helpful too though! As an example, I'm playing "The Next War" as WP. It is about turn 19 or so, and the war has been ongoing for about four or five turns. I'm winning big time. I've got 450+ units, and I've reduced Western airpower to about 26 compared to my 150. I have 15/15 nukes, which allows me to shoot about two bomber loads, and about 12 of the 22 SSMs. I've now got my SSMs all parked right where I want them, but for a good part of the war, I had them sort of mixed in with stacks all over the place.
 
A function that would allow me to sort the air planes or the order of battle by unit type would make it a LOT easier and quicker to asisgn all my long range assets every turn to do exactly what I want them to do.
 
Maybe it is impossible, or maybe there won't be another patch, but if it is possible, and there is another patch, I'd sure love to have the functionality!
