Had to ask this. Is there Fog of war on battle reports ?

I notice for example in my AAR which Im running that a US Cav Squad with 9 M1A2s got into a battle with a large Iranian force.

The battle results reported 8 M1A2s lost in the battle. Had a similar lost in another battle involving the cavalry (one of the things I disliked aobut the Original TOAW was the extreme results like this of 100% losses. They occur much too often. Should be really rare.)

The reason for the question is I looked at total losses over the days battles. instead of reading 18 M1A2s or more lost the TOTAL losses for TWO turns of battles was just 1 M1A2.

So did I just get FOW on the report or wer they just considered damaged and now repaired ?

The reports show what equipment was "lost" in a battle. Lost can either mean destroyed or damaged. Also, an evaporation is not the same as a unit being destroyed. From the online help sectioin:

What is evaporation?

Evaporation happens whenever a unit loses cohesion. While history is replete with tales of units that fought to the last man, these are unusual cases. There are many more examples of units that simply dissolved, even if only temporarily, under enemy fire. Units, even good units, can only take so much.

In most cases evaporation is different from what most wargamers are used to calling "elimination". Unless the evaporating unit is isolated, all surviving troops and equipment are still available for distribution to other units. Isolated units (those not able to trace a line of communication back to a friendly supply point), on the other hand, are truly eliminated when they evaporate. Their troops and equipment are permanently lost - assumed surrendered to enemy forces.

Time allowing, many evaporated units will eventually be reconstituted from available replacements.
