Fun way to liven up WiR experience

hey folks,
So many of you have played many a 1941 campaign. and can almost plot your opening German moves in your sleep. While I definitely enjoy the 1941 campaign, I wanted a change to liven things up. So my opponent Serge and myself decided to play the later war campaigns under different, and more exciting, victory conditions:
1943 & 1944 campagins-- Russians have to take Berlin before they did historically, or the German player wins
We'll probably play 1942 where the German player requires maybe only 4 points to win, or spread the victory points around multiple cities like Grigsby did in War in the Pacific. Has anyone tried to allocate points to 10+ cities on the map to create a more "conquer Russia and not just Moscow" way to win?
Any other thoughts or ideas on how to keep "reinventing" this great game?
