bankrupt but why?

When i give a certain % from my income to another nation from which base is this calculated...from the tax income or from the net income? Is this % calulated from the time of the treaty or does this amount change every month depending on my income?
The strange thing occured to me was that i had roughly 200+ netincome and my economy was crashing. Money was diving down to 0 and despite having a positive net income it never recovered from there. Seems there is something broken with the calculation. [:(]

Since my question isnt answered yet i add another oddity. With my tax lever at 15 % taxes went into minus [X(] How is this possible???? I´m not in war so no enemy is besieging my cities...it is no winter...my army is tiny...all units forage...no depots ...no treaties where i have to pay something.
The only things from which this oddity could arise is that i raised my Draft level from 6 to 8 or that i produce hardly labour as my labour stock is full.
As you can see i read alot meanwhile which gave me alot input of the game....but apart from some hidden features .....tax is always taken from a baseincome so how the hell one can pay negative taxes??
Any comment would be nice[:)]

Have you tried looking at the economy report particularly the national adjustment table to see what that is showing for your taxation?

Nope but will try tonite ....maybe ongoing court 10 development is killing my taxes....but to pay a minus tax is ridicolous in any case. [:D]

Ok after 2 hours playtesting i figured it out. It´s defenitely a bug let´s name it colonybug.
So what happened? Early in the game when hitting arround 2000 cash i bought 80 colonies from several countries to have a better base income during hard times.
The colonies give 80 extra income each turn ...but they reduce your taxincome!!!
I dunno if the effect immedeately jumped in but now when i realized it i tried to sell them again to other countries. Ha sell them? Good joke .....they want money from me that i get rid of them. But finally after selling errrr...buying them [:D]to other countries my taxes are working fine again.
Well it´s really a great game but i m badly surprised how many bugs are still in the game after so many patches......most of them i can avoid by bypassing their kickin.....but as new player one is absolutely lost.

Interesting I have not come across that before (or realised it was happening) although usually I am low on colonies (not playing England) until I manage to pick up some extra through surrender treaties. Did you have any to start with and were they affected too or did it just apply to the treaty purchases? I will check it out in my future games. I must say that I have found the 1.2.18 beta to be a great improvement - an irritating glitch remaining is the extra 50 money received instead of spent for first level developments - and COG is easily my favourite game to play.

No as Sweden 1792 you start with no colonies. I just bought them from other countries during peacetime to have some extra money during wartime. As i m playing a long game (20 years with 4000 glory limit) i thought its an good idea ...maybe better than to invest in banks.
When getting rid off them ...as mentioned i had to pay money to sell them again... my taxes were working fine.
