Howdy,
Looking through the directories I see the model meshes have an .x extension, what is that? Direct X format?
Will there be details on the model format and what's the preferred 3d editor? Is there an exporter for GMax?
Lot's of questions and looking forward to knocking up some models.
Jon

Yes, .X is a directX format. There are some inexpensive products that let you create .X meshes. I use MilkShape 3D for lightweight mesh work. It's something like $25 US. Our art department uses 3D Studio Max, but that's fairly expensive. I expect a tutorial for creating new tanks will be available soon.

I'm still using GMax as I don't have a few thousand dollars to spare for 3DsMax [;)]... I'll have to find a way/or exporter that can create the .x type of file. Do you have an exporter for 3DsMax or is the .x type built into it??

As Marc has mentioned... they are releasing documentation on the 3D art today or tomorrow. I know sometimes it's like Christmas [:)]
