late game German Rockets

Been doing a lot of reading of bomber crew reports and the effectiveness of these and unless the attacker got within 300 yards it was just a frightener. The planes using them seemed to often be a knackered 110 or fresh crewed in a newer twin engined job who would never get close enough for anything but fire works. Most claims seem to be pilots going out of formation by the scare and being picked off.

Any thoughts?

???
you probably mean early war rockets ( 1943 ) ??
like the Rh.B WGr21 ?

in 1945 the deadly Rh.B R 4/M was used, but usually not from Me110s.

No i'm looking at crew reports from early - mid 1944. Most of the pilot and crew logs seem to rate the rocket attacks very high on the fright factor and the navigation avoidence caused. ( meaning going out of the stream of bombers, and into Flak, searchlight, etc).

A bomber that was damaged and getting out of the stream, and being picked off by a 109 or 190 was a greater fear than a rocket firing Interceptor.

one thing about Rocket attacks, the main idea was to break up the formation, if you damaged or shot down a bomber with the rocket, so much the better

overall, would have to say, 80-90% of the times, if the Formation held, the attacks failed, or the Fighters pilots would hold off from attacking

most times when the BG got hit HARD, was when the formation broke, makeing the turn too wide, or some other such thing

(which I got Harley looking at my Twins, I wanted a change made, the game is set to give two rockets per plane, nomatter what kind of plane it is, we want to give the Twins 4 rockets)
