Which Historical Era Do You Favor the Most?

Just curious. Is it modern-day, deadball, the big-bang (1920-45), the "Golden Age" (1946-60), or however else you may define a historical period?
My favorite historical period is well-known, as I write about it frequently. [;)]

Modern day starting with 1980. Still, I had a blast playing the Pirates from the mid-late 50's in my beta dynasty.

Probably 1986-present for me. I'm a Mark McGwire & Oakland A's fan and this is about as far back as I can remember watching baseball so I can remember these players and it makes it that much more enjoyable for me.

Most of us will go for the era they grew up in. 1985-1996 does it for me. It's more like '84-'94 but I was still into baseball a little bit after the strike but not like I was. In addition, I really love baseball from the 60s....just so many great players.

The 'Golden Age'
Ah, I man after my own heart. A curiousity -- 28-year old Jackie Robinson is fast and has a great eye, but his potential is low, as Lahman imports him.
Frankly, I might bypass him in the amateur draft in Round 1. His defensive skills aren't strong, BUT he usually had great speed and contact. A great leadoff batter -- probably.
So, where would he rate in an amateur draft?

60-70's - what I grew up with. You know, the polyester, no-belt, stretch waistband uniforms - those are classic.

Well, I've only ever played with fictional players, but if I were to start simming with historical players I think it would be most interesting to play in the 20's and 30's.

'60s for me.
Gibson, Koufax, Drysdale, McLain. Mantle, Maris, Robinson, Wills. Killebrew, Yaz.

I play fictional, but try to mimic the 60's-70's style of baseball. I love good pitching and hitters having 35 homers meaning that you had a monster year!!!!! Generally use 4 man rotations, bring the SB down a bit and a lot more hit and run strategy in the game....
Of course this was all done when playing OOTP - still waiting to get my notification to download the version of PS that I just ordered via money order. My demo version of PS expired so I am waiting for the opportunity to play - but this waiting period will give me a chance to design my team and logos....

I prefer either the '40s - '50s, '70s or '95 to present.
