Bombing Enemy Headquarters

Does bombing enemy headquarters using interdiction stop them running away so quickly (thus enabling them to be overrun)?
And if so, surely any commander would then fly away their aircraft so that their are none there to overrun?
Just a query as up till now I have only ever done airfield raids on enemy headquarters.

It doesn't help in this way. Interdiction hits units 'inside' of HQ which are actualy deployed in the rear as reserves. Tank losses are especialy reduced in this case because they were usualy camouflaged and hidden.
There is also very very small chance to kill HQs commander by hitting his command tent.

I never checked it before, assuming they are, but from what I can see testing it there are no damaged planes hurt by airfield attacks. I tried different scenarios and never hit more on the ground than the number ready. If none ready, I never hit a plane on the ground. This could be a good trick. Take beat up fighter units and dump them in an HQ near the front to try and draw attacks, and watch the flak drop many attacking fighters. I have always played the opposite way from this in the past. Interesting, although not the way I would design it to be.
