Injuries and lineup change

I am playing 1.18. I'm using a 2 division 16 team league, using the PS fictional players. Today I had my utility 2nd baseman suffer a career ending neck injury and the replacement screen came up. This happened while he was on the basepaths. When I entered the replacement he came up in the lineup, but the injured runner remained on the bases. When we went into the field the replacement showed up. The next inning the same thing happened with my shortstop except it said he had a moderate injury. When the game ended and I went to my roster screen figuring I had to do some wheeling and dealing both players were fine. I can see the guy with the moderate injut=ry, but not the career ender. Not a great deal, but sure eliminated some drama.
