WWII database and other database observations...

First, I have not tried the WWII database since a long while back. Well last night I gave her a go with 3.7....I have one comment that says it all. WOW!@
That was really cool and a fine job was done, a damn fine one I might add. Congrats to the author/s. The time spent creating it must have been huge. I installed and 'adjusted' to fit and I was very impressed. The power of the Harpoon engine never ceases to amaze me. I feel like my guns are blazing, I keep wondering where the vampire is[:D]
What got it started was the attempt at taking my old database from 1997, and trying to open it in an editor. I tried for quite while and not really knowing what I did in a combination of the DBEditor(Beta) and The Acccess one, but I finally got it open. All my platforms from the old PFedit days were there. Sure there are some issues but at least they are there and readable. I can even export them out to HCF if I need to. I have my
SR-91A Aurora
SR-71 Blackbird
BCGN North Carolina
S-4 THOR (ASW plane from the JSF)
E-5 AWACS/TANKER
USS Seadragon Sub
Boris Yeltsin BBGN
FB-117 Artichoke
F-23 Grey Ghost
F-14 Tomcat 21
and many others......
And many others, ah the memories and the time to make the darn things was not in vain. Well these platforms were mixed within the 'original' H2 database so the DB is not really mine anyway. Heck many of the platforms that I added were not mine, just some tpf's on the web in various places. To think after all these years, it still WORKS and in 3.7 no less! I have not fully designed a scen with it yet, but I did get it to run.
I did notice one thing though, my SR-91 did have an altitude band labeled 'sub-orbit'. I can no longer see this whilst in the game. The altitude bands are screwy and yet in the altitude settings in the access editor it still says 100000. Strange but not unexepected being so old. I at least do not have to start over again from scratch.
I am one happy camper...If I can just get internet(MP) at the house, I would be in Harpoon Heaven.....
