LINCHPIN BLUE

UNITED STATES VS SOVIETS

LOCATION : NORTH ATLANTIC
DATE/TIME: 3 NOVEMBER 1994, 04:00:00 ZULU

OVERVIEW:

Pre-war battlelines have been restored in all major areas, except Iceland. For the Soviets, this allows them to hold on to some hope that a negotiated peace can be presented as a great victory to the masses. For the U.S. and her allies, allowing the Soviets to retain Iceland is simply unthinkable from both political and military standpoints.

Both sides knew that before the battlefield would shift to the conference table, one final battle must be resolved.

This scenario requires the original Database supplied with the game.

OPERATION BABYLON
ISRAEL VS IRAQ

LOCATION: The Middle East

DATE/TIME: 7 June, 1981/11:00:00 Zulu

On 7 June, 1981 the Israeli Air Force (IAF) undertook one of the most daring missions in the history of airpower. On that day the IAF launched Operation Babylon and successfully attacked and destroyed the Osirak Nuclear Reactor in Iraq. This scenario attempts to recreate that day.

This scenario requires the HUD-II database. Both scenario and database are available at Dr. Who's Harpoon Pages.

I looked at Dr. Who's site and could not find any HUD-2 version of this scenario anywhere on the page linked above. Can you provide a more specific link?

The need for attention (positive or negative) is more important. I'm sure Dr Who would really dig this [;)]

The first page has the HUD-II and the second page has the scenarios. You can find it here:

Interesting. When I put it in my browser, it works, but link doesn't. Try this:

Pages do show up, the scen file itself doesn't. Tested with IE, Firefox & GetRight.

Ah, I see the problem now. Not a page problem, but a file problem.

Thank you for checking and I'll let the site admin know.

Must admit I'm struggling to see either of the scenarios mentioned?
This post sort of lacks any substance, I'm dying to say where's the beef or whatever that campaign was [:)] I likely lost some of that in translation but hey it was a different country. There's a Linchpin one but it says withdrawn due to copyright or somesuch ?

I gather these are Harpoon 2 scenarios? Sorry none too clear on that or whether they'd work. Err..............have these been tested [:D]

This scenario requires the original Database supplied with the game.

No idea if these scenarios have been tested or to what standards. No claims or assertions have been made.

You'll have to contact the author of Babylon, Steve LeBlanc, if you require that data.

Thank you for taking the time to report the issue. The Site owner has fixed the problem and the scenario is now available for your pleasure.

Oddly enough I always did well at English and even have a number of qualifications to show I fooled a few people into believing so [8D]

Your post is however genuinely hard to follow and it is not at all clear which scenario you are referring to or whether it would work in 3.7 at all. Asking whether it would, seemed a reasonable enough response, responding with an insult is not.

I never did well at studying the cutting and pasting of databases though [X(]

How absolutely correct you are. It is quite evident how confusing the message could have been.

Thank you for pointing out this 'fact'. It is certainly indicative of all the fine research you have presented in the past. [:D]

Why don't you run along and make up some more interesting words like, "rubbishing", along with a few more 'facts'? [&o]

The link you posted didn't work, and you don't seem to know whether these would work in 3.7. Which part of that did I miss ?

If you are keen on facts I have a good few spreadsheets if you'd like !! [:D]

And where exactly does the word "Link" appear in the complaint?

As before, a little less complaining and little more testing will prevent the recurrence of broken scenarios being posted. [;)]

To recap, your initial post linked to a site where the scenario did not appear for the majority of us. I understand after our intervention you corrected this.
I don't recall any broken scenario's being posted by us. I don't recall any of us stating what we thought of scenario's hosted by yourself.

Nevertheless you persist with the view that broken scenario's are being posted. As stated before if anyone wishes to be involved with the retesting process, they'd be welcome. The scenarios certainly work with 3.6 and as part of HHQ's ongoing commitment to quality scenarios they will certainly be retested to ensure compatibility. This may take some time as there were a considerable number at last count [:)].
Regardless this will be undertaken and if it helps, the reports will be posted back here at Matrix.

My only complaint features in a different thread, which you were unable/unwilling to respond to.
