good chance to hit?

Not sure if I'm reading this right or if it is a semi bug.
In the second scenario of the German campaign. there are 4ea T-34's hidden in a ravine. As my tanks approached the ravine I thought I had direct LOS. I connected with a pink band from my lead tank and it stated good chance to hit...terrain deep snow. However through the next phases the tanks never fired. They actually were'nt close enough to see the T34's.
My guess, the sighting bands determine LOS based on objects and not terrain elevation.

Note that when the targeting line changes from red to transparent red/pink it means the shot is blocked or not currently possible. When you clicked to set the target, it should have stayed as a grey targeting line, which means it won't be able to actually shoot at the target.

If you can post a save file or e-mail one to erikr@matrixgames.com, I can check the LOS for you and make sure that's what's going on.

Not sure if this is related but in general I've had situations where line of site was blocked, with a gray line, depending on exactly where I clicked on a target. It if fudged it around a bit I could get a clear LOS. Seems odd but it has happened on a number of occasions.

Also in the above scenario I sent my Stugs over to deal with the tanks in the ravine. I think I had one Stug hit 6 times by a T-34 from < 500m with no ill effect. No idea if that means anything or not.

The frontal armor on Stugs is good. They are great for those types of situations. - coming over a hill or otherwise charing straight into a known enemy.

If there is a risk of a flank assult though, I don't use them since they are fixed gun.

A shot at a specific unit should be either clear or blocked regardless where you click on the unit. However, if you were just off the unit it's possible that you were seeing an area fire targeting line, which can be in some cases more lenient than targeting a specific unit. The way to be sure is to see if the blue area fire box is visible or not. If it disappears, you are targeting a specific unit.

That's definitely plausible, given the StuG's front armor (assuming it was shot from the front).
