Fulda 55 and 76

I'm having troubles playing these scenarios as Warsaw pact. Keep on getting pounded by NATO planes, paras are near useles (especially in 55), and just after the last attempt wondered to myself "Why would SSSR even attack?". Somehow I get the feeling that this scenario is largely unbalanced (West German Saboteurs? Oh Come On! And Wasn't the SSSR that was overwhelmingly powerful with number of tanks, that made US to create Apache helicopter?). I have less tanks, less planes (by turn 3). Am I doing something wrong? Are there any specific tasks I should do in first three turns to, at least, achieve balance? I did play some other scenarios with eastern weapons and acieved victory (Korea) or even draw (Cuba), but in this one I'm in deadend. Please help...[:)]

Try "The Next War 1979: Tension" that one is fairly balanced.

Thanks for the advice, but I was rather lookin for just Fulda scenario or its solution. Thanks again. Anyway, in my last attempt, in which I followed advices I found on net, I ended up being beaten by NATO just w/ plains, and their interdiction. I swear, they didnt have to attack with ground troops, they just had to waited 5 turns and roll the tanks into empty cities. LOL
I wander, why were they scared of SSSR in the end [;)].
It looks to me that Norm Koger really hated communists, and wanted to have a scenario in which you could grind them to dust.
Needles to say, I did just that by playing as NATO [:)].
Thanks again!

I would play you Fulda '76, if you register on the SZO ladder, and it's a ladder game. Then, I could take the Soviets and show you how it's done...[;)]

You'd have to live with a fairly slow pace though, since I have some other games that I'm supposed to be playing too...

I'll try that, but today I started a new game with a new tactic. I sent all paratroopers on a bridge destroying spree far behind, and concentrated my scud bombing of airports. I advanced significantly, and actually managed to pull out draw. However I think that I made a significant progress from first games. I'll try to refine this strategy.

Those, indeed, are the main 'tricks'. Have fun!
