I just bought the game few days ago and I like it. Anyway a few questions or annoying things:
- I don't know how to detach a division from an army/corp and 'attach' it to the province and/or the town where the army is located
- Sometimes when I make moves and I undo these moves, the graphical interface seems a bit 'lost' (units desappears, ...) Am I doing smthg wrong ?
- Is there a province list somewhere with direct access with 'province mgt screen' ?
- Is there a way to know the current location of each military unit ?

OK so far no more questions ...

I will answer the first one I hope.

If you want to remove a division from a corps or army, right click on the corps and this will cause a list of the units therein to pop up. Then left click on the unit you want and drag it to an empty spot in the province.

If you want to put that unit into garrrison, then left click it and drag it into the representation of the fortress on the province map.

Further thoughts on your questions:

1. If you press the Alt key when left clicking on a unit within an army/corps container, that will release it into the current province.

2. Often when moving the unit temporarily merges with other units within a flag in a province so looks like it has disappeared. Right click on the flag and left click on the unit to check its ordered move. With UNDO, it sometimes can feel like a unit disappears but its worth checking the white wording at the bottom of the screen which should describe whats happening. Continuing pressing backspace (cautiously)should hopefully reveal the unit returning or will make it clearer if the undo has switched to another unit. Having said that it sometimes freezes up on me for no apparent reason but it so much better than when there was no UNDO available.

3. I only wish there was a shortcut direct into province management but there isn't. There is no province list only a country list pressing P but no link from there to province management. However within the province management screen you can cycle forwards or backwards using the end button (which is very useful for a speed check across provinces) or you can use the zoom on the minimap within that screen to show you the location of the province concerned and other provinces or click on the map to move the province management screen to whichever province you want.

4.There is no search facility for individual units. You can look on the list within the miltary adviser screen but you can't switch between individual units there and on the main map. Often its quicker just right clicking on each of the flags, although that can be tough when your armies have grown to massive proportions. Not that I use it but there is a menu shortcut of + or - which cycles you through non-city units which haven't been ordered; this picks up diplomats and fleets as well as military units (not all the latter, but the top in each stack I think eg army, corps or isolated unit).

Thx a lot for your help.

Is there an udated list of shortcuts somewhere ?

Btw, I just bought BOA and the interface to define/undo the movement in a similar system is lot better IMHO. Looks like they put lot of thought and work in it.

There hasn't been an update of the shortcut list in the manual. Not that many have been added since ie Undo/Backspace and Quick resolution in detailed battles cleared by pressing Space (which doesn't seem to work for me).

I haven't played BOA and am tempted to try a demo but I'm not sure I can cope with committing to any new games beyond GOA and possibly FOF.
